OK, so it’s not the news we really wanted to bring you, but we have to announce that the 2021 Hathersage Hurtle will be postponed to

If you already have a place, we very, very much hope you can join us on the new date. Believe us, these hills look spectacular in their autumn colours!

Important bits …

If you already have a place and you can join us in October, hurrah! You have even more time to begin that new new training regime. If you already have a place but can’t join us on the revised date, we’ll be exceedingly sad not to be able to cheer you on and ply you with cake, but please let us know by 28 March and we will happily refund your entry fee minus a teeny administration charge… via the Facebook page or to hathersagehurtle@gmail.com

Alternatively, you can choose to donate your fee to the village primary school for whom the Hathersage Hurtle is a major fundraising event – but absolutely no hard feelings if you can’t. If you have a place on the waiting list it will be transferred automatically to the new date. If we have spaces we will reopen the waiting list in late summer. And the most important bit … THANK YOU so much for your patience and support and kindness during what has been a truly hideous 12 months. The good news is, the hills are all still here and they’re still waiting for you.

We’d like to thank every single one of you for your massive support of the Hathersage Hurtle every year. We absolutely love chatting with you before the event, we love cheering you on as you hurtle over the hills, and we love watching you bound over the finish line, often accompanied by Scouts, to triumph and cakes and beer.

The Hathersage Hurtle is an exciting event in the Hope Valley, covering 20 miles and 2,800 feet of ascent, a challenging course that you can run or walk. It will start and finish in Hathersage with walkers setting off before a mass start for the runners at 10am. There will be hot drinks available at the start and lovely home-baked cakes at the finish.

Thanks for a great race and to all the volunteers, especially those who made the cakes…. I’ve never needed to diet after a race before!!

Was a fabulous run! Soo well organised and really well marked even though you were in the middle of nowhere! Super friendly marshalls..and will be recommending this to my friends….well done! xx

Thanks to all the volunteers, these events couldn’t happen without them, and they were all smiling and offering bucket loads of encouragement, brilliant.
