Entries for HH-2021 open again in early December. Announced through our amazing Facebook Community
Hello lovely Hurtlers!
Regretfully, we have to tell you that we have made the very difficult decision not to hold the Hathersage Hurtle at all in 2020. We are as gutted as you are. We have looked long and hard into the logistics of postponing the event until later in the year, but we have concluded that it just isn’t possible. We are so sorry.
BUT! One brilliant bit of news in all the gloom … Everyone who managed to secure a place for this year’s Hathersage Hurtle will be automatically entered into next year’s event, which will be on … ready? …. 22 May 2021!
Just think, no setting reminders for the entry date, no scrambling to register at 6pm on the dot, no waiting lists to contend with … just a year of glorious training time and an even bigger, brighter, more brilliant Hurtle to look forward to!
THANK YOU
We’d like to thank every single one of you for your massive support of the Hathersage Hurtle every year. We absolutely love chatting with you before the event, we love cheering you on as you hurtle over the hills, and we love watching you bound over the finish line, often accompanied by Scouts, to triumph and cakes and beer.
We will miss you all, and we don’t need to tell you how sad we are that we can’t see you this year. We really, really hope you’ll come back to Hurtle with us again in 2021. The hills will still be there.
RUN IT WALK IT LOVE IT
The Hathersage Hurtle is an exciting event in the Hope Valley, covering 20 miles and 2,800 feet of ascent, a challenging course that you can run or walk. It will start and finish in Hathersage with walkers setting off before a mass start for the runners at 10am. There will be hot drinks available at the start and lovely home-baked cakes at the finish.

Thanks for a great race and to all the volunteers, especially those who made the cakes…. I’ve never needed to diet after a race before!!
Was a fabulous run! Soo well organised and really well marked even though you were in the middle of nowhere! Super friendly marshalls..and will be recommending this to my friends….well done! xx
Thanks to all the volunteers, these events couldn’t happen without them, and they were all smiling and offering bucket loads of encouragement, brilliant.
